PoE2 and ground effects.

These devs still haven't solved the ground effect problem. Supposedly, in an ARPG game, this type of damage needs some kind of defense. Even with charms and caped resistance, the character continues to take damage. To make matters worse, some bosses with very small battle areas manage to cover the entire ground with fire, ice, and other effects.

So the player sees something like this and wonders, "Was this tested?"

"Is this supposed to be like this?" For example: Zar Wali Marrow map boss. He covers the entire battle area with fire using the ignite effect. The only place you can stand is right next to him, but even a wolf druid right next to him continues to take damage. Other characters don't suffer fire damage or get incinerated.

So what we have here is that charms don't defend against ground effects, resistance is even less effective, the ground is completely incinerated, and I almost died. I switched characters and killed him.

In many cases, the player fails to kill a boss and switch characters not because of inability, but because of this "overpowered" or indefensible advantage. And again, this isn't difficulty; leaving the player with no defensive options isn't difficulty, it has another name.

Thinking about it, I don't see it as overpowered; I think it's just a lack of creativity. You guys kill the toon in the stupidest and most poorly done ways.

Everything he uses to cause damage inflicts ignites the ground. He has two other fire-related abilities. I always stay close to him and don't take damage. With a druid it's different, I suppose because of the wolf's size, it stomps on the ground.

With an infernalist, blood mage, and lich I kill him in seconds, with a wolf it takes a little longer.

112k lunar belessing beam damage. 2300 HP, 3k ES. All res full. just crazy dmg... cannot stand 2 seconds on that shit. i almost died at half way to 96.

The problem in some cases is the damage on the ground is a different "type" that is not affected by your defenses. Instead of "fire" or "ignite" burning ground has some stupid special type called something like "burning damage over time" that magically ignores all your defenses. It's like 4th graders playing make-believe. "I have a forcefield, Johnny!" "Oh yeah? Well I have a laser that ignores your forcefield! Neener Neener!"
Yo dawg, we heard you like ground effects. So... we added ground effects on top of your ground effects... then we doubled it!

It gets even crazier when you have a headhunter and you take the enemies ground effects so you don't know which ground effect is yours vs the enemies. Just pray you get them before they get you at that point.

MY EYS ARE BLINKING FROM THOSE GROUND EFFECTS.

For Christ shake give us option to disable ally ground effects. Impossible to understand what is enemy and what is ally ground effect. Impossible to notice anything anymore.

And I just stood in all the shit with this warrior build...



Im sorry but whatever it is, its on your end dying or even remotely having trouble with this boss or its ground effects.
