Polcirkeln ring does not work (with Oracle?

I am using the Polcirkeln ring.
I use the Painter's Servant gloves.
I use the Oracle Inevitable Crit Node.

I use Whirling Assault to chill enemies on hit. Killing chilled enemies, does leave behind normal corpses.

I would expect these corpses to be shattered, leaving behind nothing, just some ice shatters.
