Lost waystone, corrupted nexus completion quest, items and time due to the servers disconnecting

So I've spent a few hundreds of hours of this game so far since it came out last year. And never have I played in a season with this many disconnects, cogwheels and freezes in this game so far. This time however I lost the progress, even though I literally was about to spec the atlas points meaning I completed the quest + map, items, waystones and the time spent. Idk if it's even worth playing anymore, I've spent a few hundred dollars to support the game cause I love it, but this might be it. Got another dc as I was writing this forum post as well. Not on my end either. I have no idea why you're supposed to lose progress for something you have literally no control over or can do anything about, especially AFTER completing a map + quest. So stupid. I am just so tired of stuff like this ruining the experience.

Edit: also if you're sometimes playing with a friend, you can't just press esc to pause the game, meaning if you get the cogwheel freeze you'll most likely die and lose progress that way. So there's that too. However, that's not the issue that took part in this instance, but I just wanted to point out how awful the experience have been both solo and playing with friends this season.
