AMD driver timeout during mapping which freezes whole PC

Description
Just made a new build with spark to trigger CoC and CoA with Adonia's Ego. In hideout there is no issues or freezes, then I start mapping with this build and after 10-15 seconds in fight game just freezes, AMD shows driver timeout issue and whole PC is stuck. First time it didn't stuck, but decreased my fps from 60 to 20, I jumped to hideout and it again became 60, jumped again in map and in fight it drops to 20. Restarted game, then received PC freeze. Removed all cache and tried Vulcan instead of DX12, thought that it may fix issue, but it started to load so long, that I tried to switch back to DX12. Unable to do it through settings, game just stuck with deadlock. Opened config file for Poe and changed there. Tried another map and got whole PC freeze again. So specific map is not an issue, I assume it could be Commet triggering on CoC or CoA that causing such case. Game file is verified, no issues found. The performance is definitely from not using Vulkan with AMD BUT i have been having issues all day with vulkan and ive seen atleast 3 other posts made today about the issues with freezing, deadlocks and long loading times and in my own personal experience assets not loading in, holes in the ground and monsters invisible.
I think there is some major issue that needs fixing but they are on holiday so not sure if it will get fixed, for me personally it means PoE2 is done for this league, atm its unplayable |

Your display driver seems outdated, try installing the lastest drivers from AMD, version should be 25.12.1. It may or may not fix the issues but at least your driver will be up to date.

I have exactly the same problem as you. I have a 7800XT with the latest 25.12.1 drivers using DX12. I was able to complete the campaign without any issues with Spark, but when I switched to test with CoC Comet, I started getting random crashes, nothing in particular, but exactly at the moment when the comet hits the ground. The only way I’ve found to avoid the crashes is to remove the spell. I tried deleting the game’s shader cache, the Adrenalin shader cache as well, and also switching to Vulkan (the game doesn’t launch at all). I even tried DX11, but it’s unplayable due to constant stuttering. Same here as well. I verified the game’s integrity; even though there were one or two corrupted files, it didn’t change anything. I’m on the latest version of Windows 11, with a 5700X3D processor and 32 GB of RAM. The only thing I haven’t tested yet is rolling back to the previous drivers, 25.9 or 25.10.1 but honestly, I play other games without any issues, and downgrading just for PoE 2 doesn’t really appeal to me. |
