Visual clarity gets worse the more skills and mechanics overlap

I play the entangle, thrashing vines thunderstorm build with shock effect and I get a headache from trying to see what the boss is doing in a boss arena.

It feels like some of the skills were developed without keeping in mind that they would overlap with other effects and its way too severe. I can not tell what enemies are doing unless I focus, its quite stressful.

I agree.
I don't think they have any intention of fixing this. They make money selling MTX, and some of that is changes in skill appearances. If people can't see it, how would they know how cool it looks and buy it? Seriously though, it needs fixed and really points to the fact maybe no one at GGG plays in a group or as a melee class. Otherwise, this would be blatantly obvious how annoying it is. At times, even unplayable.
I cant agree more playing malee its so annoying on running away just cuz something might be on the ground
Visual clarity is a ship that has sailed. I can’t see them ever fixing it in POE2 with the path they are on, and they don’t even seem to be trying to anymore honestly.

They used it as a talking point / major issue they wanted to fix when they released POE2 then completely and utterly failed to do anything about it and gave up.
They're trying too hard to make this game look beautiful, and consider skills apparently only in isolation.

Making spells transparent is also not good for optimization, which would impact game performance even more and we all know how well that's currently handled.

In my opinion I'd simply reduce particle effects and overall VFX by like 20%

We don't really need screen sized tornadoes, or vines spawning 30 flowers that all have swirling particles around them that also explode in a dark violet mist.

At some point you also need to see what bosses are doing.
This is one of the biggest contradictions with poe 2.

In onde hand they want you to combo different skills, to dodge, to have interactive ground effects (don't step on this or that)

And in the other, they make a lot of vfx that blocks your vision of the terrain or enemies, almost every skill has insane amounts of BLUR applied to it, not to mention how much they cover your screen.

That's why i changed my mind and don't want "meaningful combat" for poe 2 anymore, i don't think GGG is capable of delivering that.

The game has been in development for 6 years iirc, they're satisfied with the visual mess they've created, even if it goes against what they said before about visual readability of skills.
