PoE 2 Uniques are still kinda crap
|
Yes there are some chase items, but overall so many bad uniques that aren't even useful for leveling.
What I really enjoy in PoE 1 is going through Uniques (some obscure) and making a build around them. There are just loads of options. I know PoE 2 isn't complete, but I don't even see one tenth of the amount of options. Zuletzt angestoßen am 26.12.2025, 18:22:52

Rather than a hyper-optimized build, it can be fun to create a unique-centered character, especially with all the lore-themed uniques. I've made Daresso builds, an Ahn build, a Cthulhu Mythos build, and others. So long as it's fun to play, it doesn't have to clear screens at a click of a button, or vaporize aspirational content. =^[.]^=

" thats all fine, but at least clearing a map should be possible, currently it isn't. Most uniques have beeen thrown randomly together with no actual plan for their usage Current Build: Penance Brand

" None of my builds have been incapable of clearing maps; they might not do so at the rate of speed in vogue amongst the zoom-zoom crowd, but then, I don't hold those builds up as an example of how I want to play. =^[.]^= =^[.]^= basic (happy/amused) cheetahmoticon: Whiskers/eye/tear-streak/nose/tear-streak/eye/

" not talking about poe1 my man, I talk about poe2. And yes you can slot in a random unique and it my not brick your build, but wearing it will give you way more disadvantages than advantages. There will also be no point in 90% of cases, because those uniques don't actually give interesting interactions, they are just placeholders or leveling uniques. Current Build: Penance Brand

I agree, those that I do see some value in (for at least leveling), they're so held back by their total lack of defenses. Note, I do think this is fine, for now, while things like classes and skills (and core weapon types) are still being worked on. But it is a problem that needs solving before full release.
I also think PoE2 Feed back should be in the POE2 Forum. Zuletzt bearbeitet von Northern_Ronin#6465 um 24.12.2025, 21:00:58

Average PoE 2 Unique -
+30% movement speed on sundays, -30% every other days of the week. Cannot wear Helmet, gloves and belt. 5% chance to get AIDS when dodge rolling (Keystones also kinda suck and are way too niche) Zuletzt bearbeitet von WickedSausage#2727 um 25.12.2025, 01:39:42

" Same problem exists throughout POE1, especially the assortment of terrible endgame unique weapons (level requirement 60-70+). It seems that devs take pride in going through their "so this is going to be a unique item" checklist: - no life bonus - no res bonus - no armor/evasion/ES bonus - throw in some negative/curse effects for "theme" and "flavor" Heaven forbid "casual" players have some deterministic alternative for decent endgame/mapping gear dropping ON THE GROUND. The only allowed gearing pathway is 20 steps of gambling...erm, "crafting". To those who say "you can't buff X item because everyone will use it", well there are plenty of unique item examples in POE1 in which no one uses item X. Perhaps we can come to a middle ground between "everyone uses item X" and "no one uses item X"? I think that's a reasonable expectation for the proclaimed "greatest ARPG of all time".
