Map monsters mod damage scaling VS Defensive scaling for players from all sources

After a few experiences with this. I'm really starting to think something is just plain off. Am I the only one? In PoE 2 it seems very clear to me they are making an effort to make monsters more dangerous in general. I would guess with zero mods and given the opportunity a T15 rare mob or boss can potentially kill the tankiest character a player is able to make currently. Give it -max res, ele pen, multiple proj, monster damage, etc.. it's easily doing triple? that amount.. But the defensive options???? Where are they???? Even with the best gear/tree no one is matching that. What's going on here?? No one wants to play a game that is designed to make you feel helpless. Sorry to say that's what POE 2 endgame is currently.
