I cannot beat A4 and could use some build advice

Hey all. I've been playing ARPG's most of my life, but I kinda always just play and don't consider all the small details too much. I've played a few hundred hours of POE 1 but have only managed to make it to maps once, and I'm currently trying for like the 5th time to get to maps in 2. I'm at tavakai, and I can get him to phase 3, but just any kind of damage absolutely deletes me.

I'm really not good with all the tiny little stats that add up and I'm sure that I need to focus up on finding better gear, but I'm just not sure what's holding me back so much and was wondering if some vets could help me out.

I'm not following a build guide which I'm sure is killing me, but I really wanted to NOT follow one for once. Everything has been fairly easy until the final island on A4 where I'm just getting smoked by regular mobs. Like I said I can get to phase 3 of Tavakai, but then his little crystals will delete me before I can even pop a flask.

Here's my build so far. I'm sure it's awful. I'm on SSF and I'm doing a frost stormweaver build. so I can't trade for anything better I just need to know what to look out for, what gear I have that needs to go, or even if my skill tree is just completely effed up.

Like I said I don't wanna follow a full on build guide, but I'm down to get some advice on what's wrong here because I have no idea. I've been stuck on this last map for hours and hours. I've tried farming up better gear but again, I just don't know what the hell to look for

at least push some more resistances, you're going around with negative cold res and 2% fire according to that link, they fart you die.

I dont play caster builds but definetely you need more resistances imo.
Also Energy Shield seems a bit low to me but resistances asap.
I know ssf is not friendly, played it myself, try to go back to the previous area and farm some better gear.

Also keep in mind that added flat damage to attacks on rings does nothing to spell, you want %increased ele damage of elements you're actually using.

For the tree like i said i dont play caster builds, but i can see you picked power charges nodes and infusions, are you generating power charges?
Also crit chance is something you want to spec much later in the game.

you NEED 75% in all resists.

So I had picked the power charge duration nodes because it's also part of elemental infusion duration, which is the one I am using, i believe? Unless I misunderstood. Should be coming from mana remnants which helps me basically power up my nova and frost bomb, stacking with snap for that extra instant DPS. Overall, my DPS is not too bad once I get the ele infusions stacked up. I can clear out huge waves as long as they don't hit me lol.

I don't know how I managed to get negative cold resist but somehow I missed that and that's definitely going to be a problem and makes sense why I can do huge damage, but it takes just one or two basic hits and I'm cooked on this island. I'll probably back out of the boss chamber and try to find some resist stats on drops.

Is it just something I want to find on any armor? Or is it best on things like jewelry? Maybe I'll respec a few nodes into some resists if I can get to them, too

Doesnt really matter where you get resistances, just get them as high as possible, but for example you have 1 ring with strenght and the other with flat dmg to attacks, you could start from there since body got spirit and thats decent.
Rings arent easy to come by, expecially for casters.

Check vendors every level up and do temples for free upgrades, kind of a lottery but still free.
Other than that keep grinding.
