My thoughs on mob size reduction and lack of uber endgame content
|
I am a big fan of rpg based in rolling, i had played tons of them some of them easier and some of them harder, theorecally anyways, and they all share something that a lot of enemies here doesn't have. wich is a pull of a few interesting moves, like two at least meaningful attacks, or at least normal hits that have to be dodged. the problem here is that due to the lack of i frames and i would say the camara, an attack in order to be engaging and something to avoid needs to be more dramatic. Something like twilihgt order enemies, runics or the cultists, especially the bow one. the problem is that a lot of times you find magic anr even rare version of enemies that only hit you normally, wich means you have to fight a pathetic life sponge, where you attack you move back, the end, especially if you are a caster, wich feels really stupid.
I think rare ones, specially, should allways be one that actually does something more that a plain attack. Because right now reducing mobs density and increasing life only make the game feel less active and outdated. when it was supposed to make thins more methodic. Honestly i would take bigger hordes back since enemies are just to plain even if you consider the more complex one. before at least mapping felt dinamic and unles you were super meta you needed to avoid damage. then you got to the boss fight and in there you needed a more thecnical approach, wich turned into a cool mix where you had the best of both tipes of games: cool animation to destroy packs and an engaging, but, in my opinion, kinda easy boss fight. while now is just slow boring trash enemies and a boss fight that is more of the same but slightly more complex. and as a result, since you are already kinda bored of mapping, a long boss fight, especially if you are starting and dont have good gear yet, feels like more of the same. so overall if they wanted to turn the game into a more souls like expirience( like those games where the hardest in their genre anyway) i feel like they didn't even got close to achieve that. also why not adding more tiers in map, so once you have full max gear or close you have something to do. right now gearing only makes the game a joke, even with t3, befere t4, simus and fisures. i frankly dont really see the point in mapping, specially since they removed instaled waystones, wich, to me, acted as a uber experience when it came to mapping. loot was terrible, but at least there was someting to be slightly challenged by.
