Behead Gem - Unable to Socket into Cross Slash

I am using Cross Slash for a finisher. It is an ideal tool for adding the Behead support but it is not allowed for some reason. My current setup is using Execute II and Culling II. Behead is exactly what I want to top off this super cool finisher skill. Why make me use some wimpy looking skill to apply it? No one wants to finish with Shred slaps...

because it's not strike skill - behead can be used only on strike skills. It's intentional and will not be changed.

That's very sub-optimal. They may as well remove it from the game if they don't want you to use it with a finisher skill. Strikes are what you use to build up to your finisher. When you want to finish you use the finisher. Does the vision want us to use combos or not?

it's much more complicated than that.

You have to do extreme mental gymnastics to make it complicated.
