Chris Wilson - Rise of the Druid feedback

Rise of the Druid had one awesome thing about it and that was the Oracle.
Loved it, awesome. I died to an instant death bug, with zero mobs on the screen again, so the game is still not ready and things like this are a serious disappoint to players, as well as, a serious problem for the studio, as once people designate a company or game, "Bugware" the studio loses a lot of reputation and the ability to attract people to new content - 100% unacceptable. So far every league i have died to bugs in.... - 100% unacceptable. The werewolf is cool but not enough moves to really feel like a fully flushed out build, I would suggest taking builds like essence drain, that several moves that are utilized in the build and focus on making the game centered around this sort of play, with getting around 20 builds well flushed out and viable, This is goaling towards simplifying the game, then make a match making system........ for group play, (this is the number one thing you should do) You probably should make a multiplayer mode, where players have a drastically reduced passive tree and fewer ascendancy selections, so that you can balance it. Nobody likes to play an imbalanced multiplayer game, nobody. This will create an environment in which more players can just choose a build and progress unto a point which they feel accomplished with. Having new classes like shaman and oracle not visible on ladder is 100% unacceptable, and this goes a lot deeper than the surface, because your player base wants to race, and see their rank ect which inspires competition, (so a in game ladder interface is a must) not have thing implement by launched suggests a studios lack of care for the desires of their player base, and combined with the bugs and deaths from them, this may be a growing issue. The overall balance is poor, and needs work. lich is busted, pathfinder is busted, warbringer is busted, oracle is busted, and so you need to work on balance. As i said before when you have build that tower over other builds by millions of DPS, the game loses a lot, and people will think, "Dumb game" Because they have no chance at matching outlier build performance which is a serious problem. You did not spend the time to perfect the combat system as i suggested. But other than that the league was pretty disappointing overall overall the league was pathetically easy, I probably came close to dying 1-3 times leveling unto 90 pre bug instant death... with no mobs on the screen! even death toll would not have hit me that hard, lets see...... what else..... the mapping experience is still off, players being able to select their content forces those racing to pursue top exp content only, and i think this is a mistake as content should be a little more random, so that players have to adapt to it the challenges, and race! I couldn't juice my maps to the point of insanity. The point of the game needs to be moved to pressing players as close unto the point of death if they are going to have a chance of winning the race, not, "i have the best build, and go fast" It needs to require more skill, thought, planning, and less click speed This will open the game up to a lot more players, and this is a topic that is short sighted that the game devs have not already addressed I was going to do a large segment on endgame mapping but i died to a bug, so no. uhh,, overall the endgame needs to be risk / reward based + exp, with players having more control over the up scaling of map difficulty with less control over the content they face. This is drastically increase player base. make scepters give minion only skill gem slots, wands too good, the overall endgame needs to scale a bit slower, no player should be able to beat the campaign and jump directly into t15 maps, they should spend a day or so scaling up people are hitting 100 too fast and it is meaningless (this is a serious problem), as the map content is not dangerous enough, so i would suggest either raising the level cap to 110 or making it so that post level 90 - 95 + you add some form of new endgame content that is seriously difficult, Mapping is dry, throughout maps tier 1 - 25 (or higher) new content need to be introduced, i.e new monster mods, new monsters, ect and they should be difficult so that players need to re-think builds, re-address character threat concerns ect, and it should feel different from the first few tiers of maps unto the point the by top tier, the game is seriously more challenging. I'm not really liking have T 1 bosses be easy as it diminishes the accomplishment of defeating t 4 + bosses, some bosses should just be extremely difficult, with 1 or 2 being only for top 5% or less players, Cosmetic rewards for players in games like WoW are seriously awesome, but without multiplayer.... they lose a lot of impact. And as game devs you might think you ask, "why aren't we doing capitalizing on this" and the answer is you should be..... There seems to be some other areas of logical disconnect within GGG like multiplayer, cosmetics, and private leagues which would result in a higher profitability, and yet have not been done... which is strange to me. leagues and ladders MUST have other accomplishments on them besides just level 1-100 ....................... for example bosses defeated ect. You need to make other goals in the game besides, "I race 100" - the fact that this hasn't been done already is troubling! the no bricked maps is much better, and was fun, but the league was not very impressive. Tempo halt is a serious problem, items have become so numerous in maps that i was having to take 2-3 portals PER MAP to ID items... which is wrong. for the next league i want to see, a Templar, ascendancy Cleric, delving into the depths of madness, in which players come to a screen with 3-5 paths, each of these paths have linear maps with mods, for each step down the path of madness (map that is completed) the difficulty slightly increases and the EXP and rewards increase as deep as the players can go, but once a player chooses not to progress further down the path of madness, the portal closes and the players have to restart back at the lowest tier and work their way back up to good exp.. This would be a seriously awesome league, and if you implemented multiplayer it would be a serious hit, and I'm not talking about 200k players I'm talking about MILLIONS of players And Cleric! other then that listed above you have to focus on retaining player count, having playerbase 1/2 in the first week of a league is not upto GGG standards (which are being raised!) I had a great time playing for a few days, and now have to get back to advising the world leaders and serving God. Thanks!
