0.4 unplayable with load times

I have an older PC with an older NVIDIA card, My loads times in 0.3 were okay and sometimes had to wait maybe 20-30 seconds. Now my load times are 2-8 minutes usually starting the game for the first time and going back to town.

I've tried a couple of fixes - deleting the cache folders this made it worse. Playing on Vulcan - no difference game performed and looked much worse (plus invisible enemies)
The only thing I haven't tried is DX11 which from what I have read is worse to play on.

The game is pretty much unplayable at this time where I'm afraid to pick up loot because going to town takes forever. I've probably spent 20% of my game time just sitting watching load screens. I'm at the end of ACT2 and I can't stomach it any longer.

The game play for this game is so good but this early access has been rough always something that just kills any want to play this game. I'm optimistic things will get better but once again its another early uninstall and waiting till the next league.

Please fix.

They did some optimizations for 0.4 that may not work well with older hardware/drivers. I mean, how old are we talking here?
Yeah pretty sure the optimization they did does not favour old Hardware.

It is insane. Load times became infinite.

Only CTRL+ALT+DEL and restart this "game" helps for a coupe areas.
yes, loading times have become increasingly difficult to bare with. super annoying at times.

I'm sure you'll figure stuff out as you go and keep going.

not quite a potato but to go from very playable (got to tier 6 maps last league with no issues) to unplayable because of a patch seems a bit ridiculous.

Are you saying I can't play PoE2 ever again because of "optimization" reasons?

Avoid city hubs like plague. In endgame loading map / hideout is much better.

If you leveling now you will suffer, loading is horrible.
PoE2 = Patch of Slog

If by 'optimizations' they mean the scheduler, not it shouldn't be the culprit as what the scheduler does is splitting workload through threads available, worst case scenario predictable would be some stuttering.

Make sure your power options on windows are set to performance. If you use an SSD make sure the %appdata% is on the SSD or edit the game configuration file to set the shader directories on the SSD in case %appdara% is on magnetic drive.

That's the only thing I can remember that could case such issues beyond the traditional shader compilation.

8th Generation CPU is within specs, and 8500 looks like a laptop CPU, so I would peek the power settings first.
AMD Ryzen 7 5800 3.8GHz
48gb RAM
RTX 3060
Game installed on an SSD.

Loading times are absolutely unbearable.
I launch the game = 20" loading time.
I spawn in hideout = 30" loading time.
I open inventory = 5" loading time.
I open Atlas = 10-15" loading time.
I load a map = 5-10" loading time.
Somewhere along the map the game freezes = 1 minute of freeze then 2-3 minutes of loading time.

I can run games that I'd figure are more demanding (like Total War: Warhammer 3) perfectly fine without long loading screens.
