Bear druid is just an eco+ warrior

It's the 4th "league start" since the launch and I end up facing the same problem again and again.
I have no gear, no weapon upgrade, no mana. Barely 700hp against act 2 boss and 230 mana. My full combo does barely 15% of the boss health and cost 45% of my mana. The druid talismant feel undertuned. Campaign should be hard (maybe) but, it's just a drag right now. I got no gear, no gold, no fun. Zuletzt angestoßen am 17.12.2025, 15:48:40

For me Campaign is way to easy. Bosses just die.

You don't need to be lucky with good gear for progression, it only needs to be "good enough".
It does suck to be unlucky, but we did sign up to Grind for Gear in the Game :) Sometimes that means we need to grind through bad RNG, which I know sounds terrible, but it is the cost for the opportunity to have good RNG - which we love! Not going to troubleshoot your progression issues but I can assure you that the power of Druid skills or Talismans is not the issue for the act 2 boss. Keep trying! A good rule of thumb for me with the damage levels in general is that "default attack" should comfortably deal with white monsters at the same level of the boss. In the case of Talismans that means rend/maul should be 1-2 hitting monsters and shred should feel like you are quite literally shredding through trash mobs. Having damage at that level gives me confidence that my weapon won't be holding me back in boss fights. |

This is my least favorite League Start because it's so braindead easy. (Not even getting into how undercooked this League is on top of the cut content like the End-Game Overhaul but I digress.)
Gear dropped enough for me to collect Elemental+Chaos Res items on my way up to be ready for the Boss fights if they were really stomping me (they went down so much faster than I am used to, so I didn't even need to make any sort of Build/Gear adjustments like equipping the Res Gear I had hoarded up). Currencies are not too bad, even Gem and Rune drops. (Though I still would argue tier 1 runes and support gems, as well as lower level skill gems, say 1-5, should be a tiny bit more available to make early game a bit more forgiving or allow a bit more experimentation.) Mana costs could potentially feel a bit high sometimes, but that's what Flasks are for and I actually am really bad at using either of my Flasks because I'm just incredibly cheap like that so it's not really like I am running out of Mana/Flasks unless something really went wrong. I just like drawing things out, I guess(?). I have +Melee only on my Talisman (self-"Crafted" or Vendor'd) (and +spells on my wand) but always run Campaign w/ the highest Magic Find I can... find, regardless of any other gear stats. This league I'm playing even slower by picking up EVERYTHING to trade/deconstruct/sell. Gold was tight for a bit but I only missed out on a few strong early game Vendor items (one was a Belt, another a Ring. That's probably it so far) and I haven't used Trade much so far except to hoard up some Jewels I *might* need later (probably not. they're honestly pretty goofy. but that's what kinda build I wanna *try* to make work). Regals are still tight, as usual, and Exalts continue to be kind of scarce. But I'm not really struggling. Vaal Temple does good work there, in Campaign. Maybe the Vaal Temple could offer a reward that's an EITHER/OR, like it has two slots but you can only use one. You can EITHER Regal an item OR Alch it. I think that would be better than just having the option to Regal when you're in the Temple. Off-topic: Alchemy Orb could use Tiers as well. Perfect Alch could be rarer than Perfect Exalt, for an example of the balance. First handful of bosses I said something along the lines of "that was cool/fun." But I can use a keyboard so one-button builds are incredibly mind-numbing for me, so I enjoy having to think moment-to-moment which skill to use. A lot of areas are way too small/trivial now. Some areas could maybe be reigned in a tiny bit still. If I make another character this league, or more likely next league, I'll take notes on each area on what's good/bad and make a massive post on it. (I usually do multiple chars, but I'm getting a bit burned out and THEY FECKIN CUT THE END-GAME OVERHAUL FROM THIS MAJOR PATCH, THAT WAS THE MAJOR CONTENT UPDATE I WAS MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO AND THIS GAME RE-HEEE-HEEE-HEALLY NEEDS IT AT THIS POINT.) Don't get lost by being so focused on the target that you forget to enjoy your surroundings.

"+1 lotta quality posts outta you, dude. thanks a lot for being credit to team. Didn't really disagree on anything you said but I made a small change and added some emphasis. I didn't feel it necessary to quote your entire post (unless you go back and delete it :P). Don't get lost by being so focused on the target that you forget to enjoy your surroundings.

I can hear you all and grinding as never really been a problem but some things just don't drop and that's freaking infuriating.
I can't be convince that the runes system is beter than a crafting bench. I can't be convince that essence are a relaible way of crafting during the campaign given how litle of actually usefull ones I get. I don't think that redoing the same "highest" leveling zone should be a thing in softcore and yet here I was. (For softcore only) I mean, at this point, the campaign is freaking long enough for me to drag myself through it once but I can hardly fine the strength to do it. As for the drood, I might have spoke too soon but I've been hearing about how the drood's gonna be so good and a one of kind experience and I'm not much more impressed than the drood of D4 (Bear form). |
