Manoki Boss bugged

There is a bug where the Manoki boss can fill the entire arena with damaging effects leaving no room to dodge his aoe moves; On my last fight when it was about to detonate the ground spikes there were 2 spots without spikes, one of which was covered by his volcano skill while the boss sat on the other slamming the ground. My build doesn't really facetank any of his moves so i don't see how this fight can be done without safe spots.
