Druid and tame beast not compatible!!! Dont waste the skill gem

Ive been waiting over a year to play as a druid. I finally get to play and for whatever reason tame beast DOESNT WORK if you shapeshift. Whats makes zero sense to me, because as a mon I have two beast companions. Why as a druid, the master of nature...can you bot have a tame beast summon active. While you shapeshift? It makes zero sense especially because out wolves dont despawn when we shapeshift. GGG really missed the mark with this choice. I really wanted to be a druid with a powerful beast companion....guess im stuck with these tiny wolves..

I guess it counts the Pounce minions as part of the Wolf Pack even if you do not have the Wolf Pack.

You can bypass this issue by using the Trusted Kinship keystone, but good luck getting there on Druid. Alternatively, you can use Yriel's Fostering which does the same thing. I'm testing out a shapeshift Pathfinder so I can go to both sides of the tree at once.

Edit: Currently, this can be very annoying to set up due to weapon swap settings apparently being bugged right now, but it DOES work. I was having trouble getting both companions and my herald of ice skill active at the same time. The solution was to (1) unequip staff from weapon set two (2) link the talisman from weapon set one to both weapon sets (3) go to the Herald skill gem and click the arrow to open up the tooltip, then selecting both I and II boxes (bottom right corner) (4) right click to activate the herald and (5) unlink talisman and reequip staff in weapon slot two.
