Is ancestral bond bugged or am I misunderstanding it?

Right now, I have to pay 75 spirit just to turn on the aura. And then after that, each totem still costs 75 spirit. So for instance with 225 spirit, I still only get my 2 spell totems because I had to spend 75 spirit just on the aura. Is that like, right and normal? it seems inaccurate to the way the trait is worded

maybe aura is the wrong word but there's a toggle in the bind window, just like other spirit skills such as the heralds, which costs 75 spirit. thats what i meant by turn on an aura
