herald of ice support gem cant activate

i had an issue where i could not activate a herald of ice skilgem for some reason

this was on druid

i had enough stats to use it
i tried lvling it and dident work
it was the only spirit gem i was using
i tried making a second one. did not work

then i asked in chat if someone could help me a sec

they went to my hideout and i traded him one of the gems

he said it worked. he traded it back and now it works

so this is a rare accurance (in 250 hours never happened )
but annoying enough i feel to report because i cant explain why it worked after trading

btw another spirit gem savage fury was working normally

edit after alt tabbing and moving some gems same thing happened

edit 2 while interacting with my stash chest the gem deactivates for some reason and gives the red exclemation point without any error


edit 3 after going to town after hideout gem was fine but now going back to my zone valley of the titans it stopped working again
then going back to the caravan its fine again but gthen going back in the zone deactivated the gem yet again

and edit 4 in town after trying to change my weapon set the weapon set 2 became red and now its not activating at all anymore so this is my full experience with my

edit 5 i talked to some friends and the heard stopped working because i was using a staff ands wass in human form can this be changed because it confused me so much

i propose the change that herald of ice does not deactivate while in human form with a staff
