RMT what can be done about it?
|
Old subject but I sure would love to see it go away! As a player that has never used one of these websites 1 week in and everything is out of my price range. Can I get an honest answer from the devs if this will ever change? At this point it looks like the only thing left to do is to join the RMT crew. SMH

How would you even begin to identify RMT trade traffic out of all the total trade traffic? Even when they can to some degree, the alleviation is temporary as people with too much money want to buy currency with their money.
They gave us SSF and Private Leagues so people could have less interaction with it if they so chose to, but in trade league those big ticket items go fairly quickly because of the aforementioned issue with the distribution of money, so beyond maintaining vigilance and sending out banwaves periodically or turning up the level of surveillance on players to the point of becoming a threat to every nation that has players or leading a global revolution of wealth redistribution, I'm certain they'd welcome any new and innovative solutions to the problem. Have you got any of those new and innovative solutions? IGN : Reamus

I share the same concern.
There are multiple reasons of why people RMT, but to me it seem to be very common practise. In fact so common, that to be able to "participate" into high tier content, to even try to loot your own items, or let alone currency, you are locked out to updgrade your build since the RMT behavior has pushed the pricing way up. However, I have also noticed that the people that (only/mainly) RMT, seem to not really understand how to make builds, or what affects the builds etc. So, the "best suggested weapon stats" is 100 divines, but leaving just one out, might be 50 exalts. And for the record, the 100d one is not actually even that great. This I see as part of the RMT problem, where the people participating in the selling, not RMT, are predatory by nature to get unrealistic profits from selling the "popular" stuff with huge margins. For example the mirror tier bow fubgun crafter, I was playing with a person that had the mirrored version of that, and I can say he had gear worth of thousands of divines equipped (maybe over ten thousand), and the bow alone was just "crazy" in terms of how much dmg output it supported. The issue is big, not easy to fix. My suggestion as partially a joke, was to make league 0.5 a RMT league. Literlly, just buy your character to lvl 100, with ascendancies etc. etc. directly from GGG. It would absolutely break the game, and people who can drop thousand of USD into a league would be happy about it, but the "rest of us" not really wanting to go into RMT, would feel even more miserable in such an economy. But, it would something to see a RMT bow craft, where the last important T0 would cost 1000 USD per roll. And for example if you RMT crafted a gear, it would be locked to your account and only exists on that league. Even this 0.5 RMT league would not actually remove the issue of shadow RMT, unless the GGG RMT would cost next to nothing, or you could buy currency also etc. |
