Evasion still underperforming

Armour is pretty great now, ES too. Even no mitigation Life stackers are fine, stacking like 15-20k Life.

Evasion on the other hand is not fine. Deflection needs 3 times the investment for the effect Armour or ES gives.
Evasion standalone makes no sense, even on Pathfinder - so what it has Elemental damage mitigation when a physical slap squeezed in and we go to papa.

We have various ways to mitigate Elemental damage now, can we get something made specifically to mitigate Physical damage on non-Armour builds?
Damage taken on mana, etc is just an EHP substance, not direct mitigation.

If I am not wrong, Fubgun has one of the most powerful evasion build and also he has many followers who also use powerful evasion build.

Basically, they win the game and they also win over a lot of other players.

No, I do not think evasion is underperforming.

I mean it clearly just doesn't (and won't) work without a second barrier of defence. And I don't see how they will fix that because if you can evade 100% of the time then it's broken (clearly). But if you evade 90% of the time it's completely unreliable. Deflection does help but due to the nature of the game..

unavoidable attacks which bypass EV
ground effects which bypass it
Huge damage dealt from enemies and especially bosses

So if you want EV to work you need..

1. huge life pool to avoid one shots (in which case you're life stacking character and not pure EV)

2. ES+EV to avoid one shots (so hybrid)

3. Armour/life/ES combo (hybrid).

It is simply designed to assist defence and not to fully protect a character.

If not including the fact that it doesn't work well as a stand-alone. Then it's not underperoming. Because even with a few thousand energy shield and say 50% evasion then a glass cannon build is quite comfortable to play at end game for all of the content. If that same build didn't have 50% evasion then it would be dying non-stop. So EV works (well).

I feel Evasion currently has 2 issues.

Due to the multiple nerfs since the start of beta, it's not possible for hybrid builds to come anywhere near to the cap on evasion. If one assumes that evasion was never meant to be used as the sole means of defense (which i personally do subscribe to), then the cap should be relevant for hybrid builds. Not reachable persé, but not 20% under it either, as it stands now.

The other issue is that they recently made telegraphed boss slams (which usually kill instantly) no longer evadible, to force the use of dodge instead. This is just wrong for multiple reasons. One is the issue with visibility being poor, making us rely on seeing the telegraph effect while, depending on the build and MTXs used, that is just not always possible. And secondly, it is unfair to take one of the three main defensive options and introduce a condition under which that defense layer just doesn't work. If Armour or Energy Shield would be given such a condition, i can only imagine the uproar it would cause.

Probably deflection could get the "ghost shroud" treatment.
With time you accumulate charges. When you have at least 1 charge, next hit will be deflected with 100% chance.

Deflect rating could either change the percent of mitigation, or shorten the charge generation interval.
Not underperforming at all.
