Can I Get Build Help Please

i seem to really be struggling killing mobs that are around my same level. I am level 36 and just finished act2 getting help with janara...
Trying to follow a lightning companion build. Having a hard time choosing what i think is the right armor. I was going to just follow another build but i am so far in on passive tree, i don't have millions of gold to redo it.
Any suggestions please?

A bit hard without some additional information as to what exatly is meant with 'struggling' but i can suggest these passive tree changes :

Deallocate the 4 lightning penetration nodes up to 'surging currents' and go to 'primal sundering' instead.

Deallocate the 3 nodes for 'death from afar' and take 'maiming strike' instead.

Slot a jewel in the node you allocated for it

Deallocate the elemental dmg nodes going up to 'Harness the elements' and grab 'escape velocity', 'acceleration' and that third ele dmg node next to 'catalysis'. Take back that last spear dmg node if you need to.

And if your dmg is ok and you need more defense, maybe make the connection from 'Vile wounds' onwards using just 1 point so you can take back those two projectile dmg nodes just above and the stat node to take some evasion where possible.

Don't forget to put quality and sockets on your gear + use runes.

I can't say much about the gear, but i'm seeing a lot of uniques. Never played a huntress, but maybe some decent rares would do a better job. Look for stuff with + to skills on it especially.

I took a step back after reading your comments on my uniques and did a little research and comparisons. Been gaming 25 years and always it seemed, if you got a unique, you were the cats uncle. every time i hit a break point in level, i'd go to market and search for a new unique to match my level...Looks like that doesn't work so much in poe2.
I ended up replacing most of my uniques with rares and surprise, the stats were more inline with what i needed. I also noted my resists were very low and in my regearing, i made sure to get them all to 75 sans chaos.

Still a little fuzzy on gear, not sure why when i go look at a piece of gear in marketplace, there are like 30 different names, seems silly and it's confusing, especially to a new player trying to learn.

Well with my gear swaps helped a good deal in my survivability, damage is slightly better and i think with your passive recommendations, that will also improve.
