I'm afraid the title definitely does not say it all because, like, why?

I don't see anything wrong with the gauntlet or the fact that it acts as a DPS check. I actually wouldn't mind seeing the difficulty ramp up more in higher tiers, because right now it just ends up feeling like a really long loading screen once you out-gear it.

The endgame is going to be a lot more interesting if there's variety across the different pinnacle encounters and they're not all just a big bad boss to burn.

Then provide some loot benefit for doing the gauntlet in time and let us slow pokes do the boss.
