Enemies that rapidly recover health.

It's infrequent, but sometimes I run into these during the campaign, and I'm wondering what the mechanic is/are, and what counters there might be beyond DPS.

It seems to be mainly on exiles, but there are some other ones that do it as well. I think the first room in trial of the ancestors island in act4 has a rare spawn that does.

In POE1 there is frost bomb. The only thing I can see so far is Punctured lung notable on the tree, but it is conditional, and I don't know that it works on these mobs, as it may not be regen.

They seem to heal intermittently, rather than constantly. I'm wondering if its a skill they have that might be interruptible, or if the are leeching in some way and you need to not get hit?

It heals very rapidly, not for their full heal, but for a large portion, seems like 25%+. It seems quite similar to Oak in POE1.

i think the exiles are using flasks. they seem to have 1 or 2 uses of the flask and then they run out.

there is an enemy modifier that can cause it to gain health over time, but it tends to be kinda slow. there's another one that heals nearby enemies and that one seems to be faster. so the trick of that one is to kill the guy doing the healing first.
Could be something like flask, the ones i'm encountering seem to be infinite though, on just a single enemy. Not all exiles i've encountered had it, but quite a few did.

Thanks for feedback.
Regen stat is a dps check. Rogues are using potions but if you dps hard enough they won't have time to use it.

Yeah but what can counter it? In POE1 there are quite a few options.

I encountered a exile in act 4 prison that appeared to be doing this healing infinitely, so if it was flask charges, how were they replenishing? I have no adds on my build. It was being used on about a 10 second rotation, so I don't think that could be the standard time recovery mods that roll on player flasks at that level. It looks like they can have uniques equiped, so maybe it was that, or a random skill they can use?

The rare one in Trial of the ancestors does seem to be less rapid and more consistent, so that one may be a different mechanic, probably regen, but it also seems to me like it is not permanently healing, so I'm wondering what the exact mechanic might be.

Are there any non-dps options to counter? Punctured lung is not easily accessible from most locations and if it is flask recovery, it would not work.

there's a gem for non-ailment dot to stop recovery (or is it halved?), there's a node (notable?) for bleed to stop recovery. or, yeah, just out-dps their healing. maybe i missed something else, but i think i'm close.
Don't get lost by being so focused on the target that you forget to enjoy your surroundings.
Thankyou, that's what I was looking for, i'll try it out next time.

(Acrimony, is 50% with non-ailment DOT, sounds like it can work like frostbomb. Hemorrhaging cuts notable, top right of tree. Punctured lung, lower left of tree.

If anyone knows of any others, please advise.)
