Stuck in Kulemak fight

I started a fight with Kulemak and beat him, then I clicked the left statue to embrace the lich's power. New fight starts, and again I killed him. Then I picked the middle statue and ended up in a third fight that I cannot win. At some point there is some sort of white halo type thing coming out of crystals on the sides sucking my life and I just can't do anything about it, so I die in a few seconds.

So I want to exit, and there is just no way to do it. I cannot teleport out, and if I exit the game and come back in, the game puts me back in the arena. There is just no way to get out of it and do something else. All I can do is stay there, restart the fight and die.

What the heck, really.

I solved my problem by playing with another character for 20-30 mins, waiting for the map instance to be reset. But honestly, it wasn't great to have to do that.
