You know, in soulslikes it's a time-honoured tradition to gimp yourself on purpose in order to have a more challenging gameplay experience.

If you've watched streamers play Elden Ring, they often refuse to use summons for example, and people also avoid certain builds that could trivialize fights in various ways.

In this game you can complete act one in white gear, you can go for a non-meta build, etc etc. It's pretty much the same thing.

Also of course, they are clearly still working on balance, and we'll be seeing an overhaul with each new league.

I overall agree that the game could be harder at this point, and I guess ultimately I'd like it to be possible to pick atlas nodes that make normal monsters much tougher so you can engage with them more, because I know some people are going to complain if the game gets harder as well as people like me complaining when it gets easier, so the idea of options based on your preferences is the obvious solution to that.

The only difference is that souls-likes have skill expression to overcome the gear difference. I don't see that in abysses, for example, or pretty much any content other than bosses.

Just like PoE has It's clowns so does Elden Ring... What Streamers/CCs do isn't indicative of what normal people do.

The tags on Steam are user defined, a lot of people have added this tag to the game so therefore it falls under the tag, GGG nor Valve have anything to do with it lol.

Also it is not showing up in steam as souls-like for me sooooo not sure whats going on there.

**EDIT** It is in the list of extensive tags that are popular just not on the main page.

And what makes you think I didn't know that? It's literally written right there. That doesn't make it any less false. It's why I asked people to report it.
