Amazon Ascendency Node "Critical Strike" = Base Chance?

Yes the Amazon Ascendancy node "Critical Strike" reads:
"Gain Additional Critical Hit Chance equal to 25% of excess chance to hit with attacks".

Is this scaling the base critical strike chance? Wording is unclear to me, thanks!

it seems like it would be additive flat chance the way it's worded but stacking dex/accuracy isn't all that difficult and a flat 15-20ish% on top of everything else seems like a lot as that would free up a bunch of other crit chance nodes/mod slots unless spear skills have a low hit chance to begin with.

Additive flat chance meaning added to my base chance? I think thats what youre saying, and I think thats what it does lol. I would just love a bit more "visual clarity" if you know what I mean

yes additive flat chance would mean it would be like +10.7% on top of your base than your %increased crit chances would be applied to that amount. It can't work that way as you'd be approaching 100% crit without the downsides to crit bonus that were in poe1 with things that always crit. Not sure if poe2 has the always crit mod/node which ever it was
