my feedback about end game mapping
Big fan of POE, played poe1 since alpha.
With that said mapping feels so horrible in POE 2. VERY unrewarding. I am really happy that crafting is starting to feel good. in this league I made hundreds of divines crafting it was super easy. With that said... I didnt bother to craft a single top end item. I just spammed out middle of the road slop. Why you might ask? because maps drop absolute crap so why bother making actual good stuff when I can spam out a 1 div ring craft that sells every time for 3-22 div a pop. even in past leagues most of my wealth came from flipping on the currency exchange. This league I was making 40 exalts every 5 minutes flipping on the currency exchange. As for my mapping experience. I cant say for sure but I felt like mapping was losing me currency per hour when i started juicing maps. Towards the end I just stopped picking up rares. It is pointless to pick up rares because maybe 1 in every 100 rares is worth 20 ex to sell. The real money is in magic and normal items id say 10-15 in every 100 magic items you pick up are worth 20 ex and tbh the number might be even higher. This is because they are good crafting bases. with a proper filter you can get 5-10 normal items per map that are each worth 5 ex due to them being good crafting bases. I finally got bored of this league super early because I realized how stupid mapping is when im more excited to see white and magic items then rare items. Is it just me?
