Trial of Ancestors quest help

I got to the end of Trial of Ancestors, beat Yama, spoke to Navali, and nothing seemed to happen, or tell me what to do next? They said something about not doing trials at the moment as people were refusing to participate. I heard there was a final tattoo, Hinekora's tattoo. But I did not seem to get this. What am I supposed to do now? Am I missing something? I went back to the first zone, the guy who took me there had an exclamation mark, and said he knew I would do it, but still nothing.

Is there something I am missing, or do I come back later?

Edit: I watched a video on YT. They got a silver coin from Yama, which I did not. And got the tattoo when speaking with her in the next room. Any idea if I can fix this?
