Blood Boils not applying on enemies, (this is not herald interaction as i dont have it)

i just picked the blood boil perk and when i literally hug the common enemies for minute it still doesn't apply anything, i have it in the G tab so it must be bug unless i misunderstand how it is supposed to work.

I show the spell (g) tab at the end to confirm i have it.

Ok so it is not bug and i found out why it did nothing, you need to fricking go into the skill panel, hover over the image and right click it for it to work...

i had two other persistent skills like this that did nothing and i didn't notice until now

Does it teaches you how this works anywhere? this changes the situation from bug to unintuitive mechanic to activate your auras ffs.
