Inevitable Agony - Thoughts?
The new Chronomancer skill coming to 0.3, Inevitable Agony:
The Flood of Echoes Notable Passive Skill has been renamed to Inevitability. It no longer grants the Unleash Skill. It instead now grants the new skill Inevitable Agony, which Curses all targets in an area after a short delay, causing a portion of Damage they take from Hits to be stored in the Curse. 1) How much stored damage are we expecting? 30%... 50?... 100% :D 2) Do you guys think it will be able to benefit from Curse effect? And will it count towards curse limit? 3) Do you guys think that this will be the very best group support skill? 4) If the curse duration is lower than the cooldown, do you guys think we can apply more than one to create an ever amplifying effect? This is just a thread to try and predict the possibilities and maybe some uses/builds! Zuletzt angestoßen am 24.08.2025, 17:32:11

They gave Chronomancer (a Sorceress, not a Witch) a Curse skill as a Ascendancy, so GGG seems aware that Chronomancers have become the supportive cursebots of Poe2 and try to further push them into that direction. The skill must have "Does not count towards curse limit". Everything else would make the skill broken. You cant ask a cursebot to take out its boosted Temporal Chains or Enfeeble, invest another ascendancy and then be satisfied with only like 30% more damage. Damage isnt that important in Poe2 as in Poe1 where monsters in juiced maps scale into billions of hp. However the curse is basically Focus from Poe1. If the values are too high i can see some hardcore builds or just any generic build that ends up on Chronomancer abuse it, to easily cheat bosses on their 0dps mega tank build. So i think it will not use Curse limit, it will have values of around 20-40% and most importantly it will scale with curse magnitude. This will be a downside, because if the skill scales with magnitude it will also scale with the penalty to unique monsters. So for any non cursebots who just want to get some free damage the effect will be halved.

" I do agree that it "should" but I wouldn't be surprised if it did not x) " That is also what I fear! However it could still be pretty broken in a 5 man group? If per say you can get the curse power to over 30% on unique bosses. However I also think that there is a possibility that it will not actually be a curse even though they worded it as such in the patch notes? |
