The whispering ice theorycrafting thread for 0.3

Maybe I will find some fellow whispering ice enjoyers in this threaed, or just some input from more experienced players, but I'd really like to discuss potential builds for the upcoming patch. I haven't played in like 6 months, so everything seems new to me.

1. What archetype would you go for?
a. Personally I'm aiming for cast on crit or selfcast. You reckon cast on freeze is a good idea? I think it would suffer against bosses since their threshold is usually too high.
b. what skill would you socket into a CoC setup? Comet? Or just ignore it and count on icestorm itself?

2. What ascendancy?
a. Ritualist for the 3rd ring slot?
b. Stormweaver because of archmage harmony?
c. Chronomancer shennanigans?
d. I even considered infernalist or lich, but i'm not sure if that's a good combination.

3. What key passive notes would you consider?
a. Chaos inoculation, self explanatory
b. eternal youth, see above
c. avatar of fire? I recall that I used it in poe1 for the double dip with cold to fire support gem, but I don't think it exists in poe2?

I'd love to hear your thoughts and or if u already have a build planned.

We'll have to see how its skill actually plays in this version, but I'm certainly optimistic. The new remnants system could make it pretty damn potent even beyond its default application.
