The game really needs some sort of transmog option
If you don't want to make it fully open because it's a f2p game, fine. But at the very least we should have the option to change the TYPE of gear we're wearing into something of our choice. For example, I don't want my Huntress to wear a robe yet that's the best I could find. It totally ruins the aesthetic of the character and it affects my immersion.
I propose for a vendor option where for a fee we get to choose the type of gear we want to wear on each slot, where applicable. Mail, plate, robe, leather, etc. The result would still be random but at least it would be within that category of gear, which I think is a pretty big deal in an ARPG. And Immersion doesn't break when you wear a fat warrior armor with 1500 def and change it into a beginners robe? It would affect my immersion to use a wrong item (robe on Huntress) that does not look strange.
On the other hand many items are reused multiple times, just with different values and level requirements, strange skins are available on Shop and this game is also using a isometric camera. All aspects that tell "this game has not much to do with immersion at all". From this point of view there is nothing that speaks against transmog in any kind of form. So I'm not against it. But than I want to transmog the ugly warrior armor into the cool warrior armor and not just a type switch with random armor within that category. My idea would be that the item you want to copy the look would be consumed - this way uniques become another reason to being collected (multiple times). And common items are easy to collect, but still cost some kind of currency. |

Would be really nice, but sadly - we are already have such option. Through the clunky one-time usable MTX named "skin transfer", and while GGG has politics of overpriced cosmetics - barely we would get any changes here.

" Yes, the idea is to pick a type of gear you want for example plate armour, and roll within that type as many times as you want until you find something you're happy. Having said that, it's just an idea. My main point is we need some sort of transmog option in the game even if it's limited. |

There is.. a 1 time use MTX to make your gear look like another piece of gear. Also in general all of the MTX armors are technically transmogs.

" Is it the skin transfer MTX you're talking about? It states that it transfers the visual appearance of 1 item to another of the same type. I haven't used it before. Does it mean you can make a robe look like plate armour for example? |

did I really got censored?
I was saying that instead of complaining you could support the game buying your favorite mtx But I said that in some wrong manner (that I am not sorry for saying it true) |

I'm not sure if the skin transfer MTX is supposed to do what I'm asking in this thread but I still feel a basic transmog function for the gear already in the base game, can co-exist along the premium MTX stuff.
I understand this is a f2p game but it still feels pretty bad having to pay for such basic functionality. Having said that, I've just purchased a maps tab not because I necessarily had to but because I felt like supporting the game. That was on top of the base 300 coins of EA btw. What I'm trying to say is, there are many ways to support the game already. Having a basic transmog functionality won't take away from any of that. It would probably enhance it since players will be incentivized to use the built-in transmog function and will be more welcoming towards buying premium skins. I dunno why they call it Skin transfer when it is literally transmogr.
It works like this: You take Item A, and use Skin Transfer on Item B. This means that Item B will take the looks and icon from Item A. This will then destroy Item A. The one thing I really dislike about it is that you can only do it once per item B. And I mean, even if you buy more of the MTX, you can't use it again on Item B. |

" Thanks for explaining how it works. It honestly sounds like a bad implementation at best, dodgy at worst. I have no idea how successful this MTX is for them but I'd be willing to pay a fixed amount per character for infinite transmogs (on all slots). |
