How do waystone suffixes affect loot?

If we disregard the atlas skill tree completely, what effect do waystone suffixes have on the quantity and rarity of dropped currency exactly?

No effect on loot itself, which is where I feel the move away from POE 1 was a mistake. This results in every map you run on the path towards towers feel boring to do (which for the average player is the bulk of the time spent playing the game.

Move the Quant and rarity to the waystone mods, then use towers for buffing additional content, if they choose to do so.
