A new league every four months? Really?

With Secrets of the Atlas in the rear-view mirror, GGG has laid out its plans for the next season. The studio's new schedule is set to run a total of six leagues per year, three for PoE 1 and three for PoE 2, each on four-month cycles (meaning anyone who likes both should have a new season to play every two months). This therefore puts the next Path of Exile 2 update in August, with the one to follow expected in December.

Grinding Gear Games confirms Path of Exile 2 0.3.0 will launch on Friday August 29.

I think I missed the announcement on the official forums, but by serendipity came across the link above.

I can't help but think this is a gaming house torn between its cash cow, and some future "vision" where all the original's presumed foibles are tested against an alpha player base to see what sticks.

Odd to see a sequel be used to improve the original.

Whats the issue? They've worked this way for like a decade.
"Beidat honored the pact, though Mancy wouldn't take off Doryani’s prototype."
GGG should keep the league-exclusive nonsense to PoE1. They can still spin out F R E S H realms for those who care about it, but allow all players to access the new content at the same time, regardless of which server they play on.
