Currency exchange completely useless on console

I don't even know where to start

1)95% of items are NO STOCK
2)interface is weirdly complex
3)costs are broken:
A / B = 1/170
B / A = 190/1

please fix this game on console or kill it and focus on poe 2 only

This is absolutely normal in a small economy.

Everyone wants to make an exchange to their advantage. When the number of participants is very large, the difference between "buy" and "sell" orders will be largely determined by the cost of doing the transaction (in this case, an amount of gold). Because a large number of chaos orbs costs more gold to "buy" than a single divine orb, it drives the gap wider.

The reason a large economy balances out this way is because a large economy can support people who are doing transactions strictly for profit, and are not intending to actually utilize either resource. In a smaller economy, there may not be enough liquidity to support these profit-driven transactions.

When the economy is small, the individual demand is more likely to be a determining factor, but it obviously can vary depending on the details. For example, if there is a much larger demand for chaos than divines, then the ratio will be much worse when "buying" chaos with divines than vice versa.

I'm not saying that the console market has that particular imbalance, it's just an example of one potential cause.

One final comment, a LOT of people compare Faustus to a stock market (I've done it myself in the past), but this can lead to misunderstandings. In a stock market, the stocks are traded but only very rarely created or destroyed. I think Faustus more closely resembles a commodities market, but there are also flaws in that comparison. Either way, remember that the things traded through Faustus are also both generated and consumed outside of the market, so there are exterior forces that are different than those of a stock exchange.

I'm sure there are free economics classes if you want to learn more.
thank you for replaying.
the problem of poe1 exchange is the separation from PC and fact that im used to poe2 exchange

On poe2 the market and so the alva exchange are perfect (interface also) and balanced.

anyway, still can't understand how is possible that i cannot exchange basically nothing but divine/chaos/exalted and few other currency.
POE1 on consoles is the Forced Semi-SSF with a HUGE lack of support from devs (no bug fixes, even no hotfixes).
Consoles have the market board, which Players are used to use, thats one point why Faustus is empty .. also its summer and the population is quite a bit lower ( aside from the f up league launch which also cost some players) and quite a few might have moved on cause of content draught the last year..

since currencys are heavily priceficed in the market board since forever, ppl are using faustus for those and everything else is just as it was before
Honestly sometimes is better. For example - i just traded 2 divines for 210 chaos ea while the rate on market is 190. Smae goes for alts or fusing sometimes. I just wonder how does it function and how should I list items in there.
guys don't misunderstand.

i don't talk about "how bad is the market, in general, on console"

I'm pretty sure that, on console, Faustus is broken

yesterday:
WANT - HAVE

1 div = 200 chaos
1 ex = 20 chaos
1 div = 8 ex

also yesterdayb(and now)

1 EX = 1 DIV.

it's broken

It's a market with listings by players. Did you think it was run by GGG or something?

It shows you the best available current rate.

If there are no other listings up, then the 1ex = 1 div will be the one you see.

Often, if you only see horrible rates, it will be better to put in your OWN rate of choice, and wait for someone to fulfill it. This assumes you're being reasonable.

The stupid rates (like 1ex = 1div) only exist because of people who are either hoping someone will misclick or they literally don't understand how it works.

Those things exist on PC as well, BTW. Someone always puts up a "my 1 div for your 1 mirror" on PC in the hopes that someone will misclick it.

Of course, misclick listings are kind of silly in a system that requires multistep confirmation, but whatever.

Its like a market - if you deplete the stock, the next available would be the one for higher price. There is nothing wrong as these items are listed by players, not printed by ggg.
