Do you know the meaning of Abandonware?

Path of Exile 2 is nowhere near abandonware. It’s in paid early-access with an active studio behind it, so calling it that just makes you look stupid.

What also makes you look stupid is the fact that you are expecting high performance from a studio who never had the necessary resources to keep TWO live service games in a decent condition.

Finally, IF GGG had walked away, you’d see investors and modding groups scrambling to license or acquire the IP so they can money off this game.

In reality, GGG still controls every patch, league update, and marketing beat, in spite of not having enough resources to do a proper job at the moment.

A bit over the top, but i kinda agree. GGG has a huge issue with focusing on 2 Games with the same team. Thats not something that works imo.

Its not abandonware. Its just that POE1 had to get this league. The issue the team now has to focus on fixing league things in POE, but yeah POE2 wont get any updates for now.

GGG will need 2 teams. At best they just open a second studio somewhere else in the world. They should have the money for that. It will take time until that team has enough experience, but long term i think it would be the right decision.
