So why Frostbolt or Fireball socketed into Cast on Critical could count as attack?

I've seen many many builds of COC with Frostbolt and Fireball for the Tangletongue to build up full Trinity buff, screen full of effects.

But I'm playing Lightning Arrow, when I put them in Cast On Shock with Ball Lightning, it doesn't count at all, nothing, even if the screen full of balls.

TBH, spell should not be count as attack for Trinity, but why COC makes so different?

Maybe GGG already found it, yet dare not to fix it in order to let spear players happy?

I am not a pro but, don't you confuse something there?

Cast on crit can either be used by caster builds or attack based builds.
So no matter what spell you put in cast on crit, an attack build can trigger them too with high crit.

E: And I think that's how it should work. And if some guys find a way to trigger trinity in a more creative manner, then why would you think that this needs a 'fix'?

I think it is deserved. And also, lightning spear with tangletongue is already powerful enough. No need trinity, it's not gonna change much for map clearing, maybe for the visuals or so.
POE 2 got serious performance issues. And so far the devs don't do anything about it or can't do anything about it. Either way it is very bad!

Thank you, but you have no idea of what I'm talking about.
Im not metaslave addicted to guides, so can you link one of that "many many builds"? Cuz what you say is either lie or bug.

I see, we have to play arrogant.

You compare cast on shock to cast on crit. Maybe you don't have any idea what you're talking about either.

The cast on crit proc is far more reliable than the other 'cast on' gems.

'many many' is fun tho, I have not seen even 1 doing that.
But even if there are builds making use of this, what's wrong with it lol?
And the op seems just jealous -> I quote 'But I'm playing Lightning Arrow, when I put them in Cast On Shock with Ball Lightning, it doesn't count at all, nothing, even if the screen full of balls.'

that he cannot use it but them can...pathetic.

Thing is, Trinity works with attacks, not spells. Thats why i asked for an example of build that uses frost/fire balls for Trinity. OP probably dont understad the build he copy.

yeah well, using a cast on crit setup to proc trinity to apply the buff to an attack in the end, I don't see why there should be something wrong with that.

Maybe if it was like a cast on crit build purely, that relies on the damage from cast on crit, then there should be taken action, or at least change trinity description that it works with both attacks and spells.

I am not a huge fan of this concept anyways. I mean, why make stuff like heralds and trinity attack based only?

And vice versa too. I was a big fan of power siphon in poe 1. There was just something cool and smooth to it. They totally destroyed this skill in poe 2.
Now it's a spell and not an attack. And you can only use it on targets that are ready to be culled.
Give us some freedom lol.

please read carefully:

Frostball and Fireball are spells, they are not "Attack", no need to explain, so even you cast a spell with Trinity on, you don't get any count, easy to understand.

But spells socketed in COC, would eventully build up Trinity count, that's a bug, all 100% crit spear players are so happy with it to fill up Trinity fast.

And spells socketed in COS( because I'm playing lightning arrow ), are not count to build up Trinity, and that's normal.

What I'm saying is, spells come from COC count as attack are bug, understand?

What else I'm saying is, why COS can't have that same bug so I could fill my Trinity.

So my conclusion is: COC spell count as Attack is a bug and GGG knew it and dare not to fix it because that'll rule out lots meta bug play.

Again - post some build that works as you described. We came from "many many builds" to "all" without single example.
