starcaller abyssal axe

I saw this two-handed weapon in the new POE expansion, and immediately thought "I need to make a cyclone build with this weapon" Does any enthusiast already have any theorycraft? Ideas for ascensions that will work best with the weapon?

It definitely looks like a new CoC cyclone weapon option as opposed to the coldpoint dagger. It will just be a matter of time for us to get the details of Star-Fall and how it will be scaled.

Well it's triggered on crit so you probably want to be assassin or inquisitor to scale your crit chance. Really it's damage on the weapon looks pretty low for a 2h weapon so it might need to be scaling the spell part only.

Oh it also could possibly be good with indegon and mana scaling so heiro could be good with it also though you'll need to borrow the crit node from inquisitor.

CoC ? I think it wont be used by cast on critical support.

You just pump up cyclone itself to as much crit chance/Attack speed/other utility gems to cast starfall as much as possible.

But Starfall wont be able to be supported by any gems, and i dont think it will be competetive in dmg to other 6links, sadly :(

But anyways, ill maybe start as EA champ and transition into fort stacking cyclone with starcaller.

But due to the chmapion is OP streamer hype , anyone and his mum will brainless follow their streamers and The Celestial Brace will go up to 400div on day 3.

It should be able to be supported by gems in the weapon so you can probably get it to be a 7 link. Most skills from items work that way anyhow kind of like the ice storm from that one staff it gets supported by the gem links inside the staff. Edit I actually am not 100% sure anymore I looked at the item whispering ice and it says grants skill so mby it's different. I just remember hearing back in the day that skills in items can get supported by gems in the item but who really knows how this new one works.

It should work like with Whispering Ice.

Ngamahu's Flame also is a trigger and it counts the gems in the Weapon.

the wording is very close to nghamus so judging from the wording alone it is 100% supportable.

Most likely the best way to scale the skill is doing strength stacking, that way you scale cyclone AND starfall at the same time, building a very strong map clear through cyclone alone and rares instantly popping from starfalls, bosses melt with combined damage, Slayer would be my go to ascendancy for it as it gives you good balance between defense and offense.
