Dying right before the boss dies removes loot but completes quest

Dying right before the boss dies in the campaign removes loot but completes the quest, which makes you unable to get rewards from that boss.

This happened to me during the Forsaken Son boss fight, not sure if it's the intended behaviour, but it does feel bad.
