Cannot ascend a third time

I am doing the Trial of Sekhemas. Level and floor numbers were enough, items said "This WILL grant ascendency points".

Did the trial twice with an item that had this message. Both times the altar at the end was not interactable at all. No points granted either.

This really sucks as it basically blocked the progress.

And you have played all floors (at the end of the Ascendancy Altar/chest room there is an entry to the next floor)?

OK, I was stupid and not took the next floor. After doing that, in the 2nd floor, altar was interactive and it made the sound and opened the skill tree, but didn't grant anything. After the 3rd floor, the same thing happened. Then I went to Balbala, selected "Refund Passives" and I was able to assign my points.

I didn't play this league back in the day, or this mechanic ever, so I was lost on what's going on.
