Electric walker spawning on character and 1 shotting, no clear indicator at all

Fighting enemies, mostly Aphrecia and Harbingers, but nearly every single electric spawning guy that normally should walk around before blowing himself up, is essentially spawning on top of my character even while moving, and 1-shotting. This isn't fun
