Monk Stun
So I get that the wind skills like staggering palm, vaulting impact, whirling assault is more focused on stun, but has anyone been able to come up w some interesting build around those skills ? They seem pretty useless since is always more interesting going crit

Do both. Screw elemental damage. Embrace the jank that is Chayula.

Staggering Palm - Great buff, pain to proc. Downtime on the buff against boss encounters feels bad. Missing a stun on a boss feels really bad. Pairing this with a support gem to get more from fully broken armor on stun feels great. My suggestion would be to make this add a debuff that increases susceptible to daze, triggers the buff when enemy becomes stunned.
Wind Blast - Decent damage. Ideally should be used to daze mobs for easier stun. In practice this just kills them in two hits. Stacking additional stun buildup doesn't seem to help enough. Knockback effect feels too weak to notice. Weak area of effect range is a bit disappointing too. Whirling Assault - This thing feels like a weak noodle until you get staggering's buff on it. Then it has decent aoe clear. It won't do nearly as well as say, lightning spear, but it can feel good. The knockback effect on this is also too weak to notice. On console (and maybe PC too) being in collusion with a monster when activating the ability doesn't allow for further movement during it's duration. This mean in practice using it effective requires first disengaging from close range by a meter or so so there is room to "move forward" during the attack. This needs more damage, better aoe range, and less minimum attack time. Vaulting Impact - This skill is too slow. It feels bad trying to use it and being interrupted by a minor stun. The damage doesn't scale hard enough and the default aoe size is too small. Skills are fun and have potential but there isn't enough to synergize on the passive tree to really build the damage. Reliance on staggering palm makes using these abilities feel awful against any boss that doesn't make mobs to stun. Overall just wish it got a bit of a rework. Some minor tweaks would really bring it up. |

War Cries can be supported to automatically apply Daze (base cost increased by 10%). I use Infernal Cry for AoE Daze and then hit with Staggering Palm. The Devastate support gem causes all projectiles from the Staggering Force buff to fully break armour whenever they heavy stun. Its an easy way get stacks for Scavenged Plating.
