New update crashing on start up, leads to full PC freeze

POE2 is crashing on start up, prior to the GGG logo being displayed. Game freezes, task manager to end it. After that the PC completely locks up, unresponsive. Have to force restart every time. 0.2 is causing some real PC trauma.
This was happening on Monday morning, stopped, and started happening again last night. Was working fine then a small update launches and this happens. I’ll wait for another update to continue my play through. Any recommendations welcomed.
