Infernalist concept

I am currently rather successfull with a lich hexblast build but am very intruiged by an idea that I have and I wonder if any more experienced infernalist players got some input.

I want to play a classic contagion build BUT instead of ED I use
an ignite source (solar orb?), the blackflame ring to turn the ignite into chaos damage and then either cast on ignite contagion or regular contagion.

The reason for me to make this build is that I always loved the blackflame ring and I really enjoy scaling ailment dmg in poe2.

Any problems I might face with this?
