Please add MISS/EVADE indicator

We need a MISS/EVADE (Accuracy based damage) indicator to know whether we need more accuracy, rule out if a projectile just didn't literally connect/hit, and rule out if it was a BUG.
Whether it be a SOUND or actual VISUAL indicator. It would help players actually acknowledge Accuracy as a mechanic and not just get frustrated why their DPS randomly didn't do more than intended. Sounds like a good idea to me.
GGG likes to avoid floating text so do you think a voice line could work? eg, shoot a projectile and if it misses our character gets annoyed and says something simple like; "missed my mark" "nimble bastard" "tch" "that won't happen again" "Stand still!" I think the in game tooltip for accuracy is alright. but even with 100% accuracy we run into "evasive enemies" and i think bosses can gain extra evasion too. Would be useful to have some feedback during combat that more accuracy would still help us or not. "Beidat honored the pact, though Mancy wouldn't take off Doryani’s prototype."

" maybe.. but voice lines for me might be too subtle or annoying especially if its such a common occurance. Even I don't pay much attention to them. But a sound effect should also not stand out so much to not be annoying since I figure STR characters will hear it a lot lol. Maybe like a subtle *Whoosh* air-like sound? Would love to see something too!! The sound and visuals team is doing amazing work with everything in this game, and I think they should add something here. Like maybe an air particle that whooshes over your Life (or Mana) pool whenever you evade something. Along with a sound effect like rushing wind.
The parent idea is to have some kind of feedback for the gameplay choices we do, like when there's a smash/plink for blocking hits or taking damage while wearing armor. It feels fun and 'consequential' when the UI changes in accordance with a gameplay interaction/choice that the player is doing. Like how the Energy Shield pool changes once you take Chaos Inoculation. That feels fun! That feels consequential! I feel involved when the UI changes as a result of my build, like reserving Life or having no Mana. I want something like this for evasion and deflection instead of a vacant nothingness happening. |
