When developers think they know best - and fail
Since GGG has not been able to fix the hard crash issues yet... I spent some time in other games the past few weeks. This includes games that are highly popular and still in development. Some games that even got 4 times the player numbers at launch like Palworld. Also RNG based games like Enshrouded. Yes - Early access games that are doing well and are priced similar to what we paid for POE 2.
And... I LOVE THOSE GAMES like so many other players do!... Why?... Because they have a great world and story to go through? Because they have many RPG elements that progress your character in many ways? Yes... these games have that... But they also give their players REAL OPTIONS on HOW they enjoy the world. PLAYERS control the difficulty - players control the punishment. And the PLAYERS control how they are going to enjoy this world and how they spend their time playing. I can setup an Enshrouded server where I lose every single item each time I die - but I can also setup a server where I lose nothing. Why do I mention this here? Because apparently - Many developers seem to forget that there are MANY different types of players out there. And some game developers seem to forget what the main goal of gaming is all about. To actually PLAY A GAME. Just want to remind GGG about this now, seeing all the feedback about the punishing "endgame" in POE 2. Cause alot of players have left this EA with feedback already about this. The question is... will GGG take note and allow players to enjoy and PLAY POE 2? Or was the goal just to get the 30 dollars from those players? Some developers listen... others stay stubborn and arrogant.
