Feedback from a new player
Hello, never played POE1, so all feedback is based 100% on POE2.
Been playing 3-4 weeks now, still on first character, a level 82 Warrior class. Things I like: Trading site is very nice In game currency trading vendor is a great touch Overall difficulty as you progress is good for a new player, probably not not much for an experienced player. Graphics are very nice for a 2D game. Leveling is a good pace, not too slow, not too fast Things I dislike: Uniques, they are all useless, the ones i have found anyways, feels bad because they have such a low droprate only to be trash. Act 3 past town entrance nowhere to be seen once act 3 is completed Endgame mapping quests need more explanation, after unlocking the quests i had no idea wtf i was to do. Some of the monsters and bosses look a lot like what Last Epoch has, now, I never played POE1, so maybe Last Epoch got those ideas from that game. Either way, the similarities scream lawsuit from someone. Overall happy with my time in the game so far, feels better than what D4 offered at first. Long time D2 player, over 20 years. I played Diablo 2 on and off for 20 years as well and I think POE is better because it is more granular.
I think you should try Poe1 as well because IMO it is kinda like D2 perfected and with a much better storyline / Gameworld. I think they do make assumptions about the endgame and new players don't really know what to do so that should be improved. But it probably will eventually. In Poe 1 there's a quest map you have to run in the acts so you will know how to use a map device before endgame. |

" ? ??? ? ? ?? It's a 3D game with full 3D models, just with a set camera. What possibly make you think it's a 2D game ? |

from an artist POV, this is a 2D game.
3D models or not, you cant spin the camera around 360 degrees in all directions, you cant spin the camera around in any direction at all as far as I know. if you can, i have no idea how its done, game never showed me. its like you are playing on a sheet of paper, sure, the artist has drawn 3D images on that paper, but your POV of that paper never changes. now lets compare that to games like GTA, Guild Wars, COD, PUBG, etc... true 3D games, where you control your the camera as if you see it through your own eyes in the real world. You are playing in a 3D world, on a 3D map, 360 degree rotation in every direction. Now, you can call this 3D models and such, and I am sure they are, but you are still playing on a 2D surface built to look 3D with zero camera control other than zoom in and out, you cant turn it left, right, up or down or anything in between. This game and games like it, use east/west/north and south movements as you view the action from above at an angle. Zuletzt bearbeitet von tastegw#0065 um 13.02.2025, 04:57:53
