Regarding the full system freeze (Windows 11 24H2) Important!
Edit: Didn't see that you've already fixed it in PoE 2, I will check if the problem persist in PoE 1 later today :)
Hello GGG, I will post this in both early access and PoE 1 bug report forum, to make sure that you see it, and because I think it's the same issue in both games. So about that full system freeze.. I am currently playing PoE 1 and I have the EXACT same problem after the Windows 11 24H2 update. Sometimes when I go into a loading screen (only loading screens!) my whole PC will freeze. It freezes with sound (even "live" sound from discord communication), image, everything freezes.. nothing to do but hard reboot the PC. From what I have checked in the event viewer, every time this happens, the last event on my pc is ALWAYS something to do with Windows Hyper V which is something used for virtual machines (which I am not using). It tells me to disable hyper threading to avoid this problem. The exact wording in the event viewer: "The hypervisor did not enable mitigations for side channel vulnerabilities for virtual machines because HyperThreading is enabled. To enable mitigations for virtual machines, disable HyperThreading." And to emphasize, this is every time! after at least 6-7 freezes that require a rebot and with no other events even close to the time of the crash. I have reported this to microsoft as well with urgency but who knows whether or not they see it fast. I do not know if this will help in your search, I just thought it was "funny" that it also happens in PoE 1 in the exact way you are describing it about PoE 2 (haven't played PoE 2 for a month, so not sure if it's the exact same freeze). I hope this is helpful and the issues will get fixed in both PoE 1 and 2 !! Zuletzt bearbeitet von BeyondSenses#4522 um 12.02.2025, 05:58:06 Zuletzt angestoßen am 12.02.2025, 08:35:17

" And do you have tried to disable it in BIOS/UEFI? https://www.pcmag.com/news/how-to-disable-hyperthreading |

Eh, no? xD
Not gonna bother to go to my BIOS and disable something to make my PC waaaaaay slower and potentially frying my CPU due to overload when playing with 1 core (not sure if that can happen, but I won't risk it) So no, ofc not :) It shouldn't be an issue to begin with.. |

" Hyperthreading only reduces the simultaneously used threads by 50%. If you have a 4 cores CPU, then you still have 4 cores (with 4 simultaneously used threads), instead of 8 (with Hyperthreading). If you are not using any VM (or another intensive multithreading app), then you can safely disable Hyperthreading. And this would help other gamers, if you (or someone else) can confirm this (I've no Intel CPU, so I can't test it). |

" I will try it if the crash happens again :) so far no crash in an hour of playtime, so might be fixed already. |
