Opening the atlas for all new toons after campaign is finished
Just curious what yall think. If it’s been mentioned then apologies in advance.
After normal and cruel to play the story and open up the atlas why not make it playable for new characters? Start at level 1 in your hideout and play to level up (like the open world idea in D4.) Find waystones to progress. When you encounter the bosses that award the 2 skill tree points in the campaign they award them to the player just like in the campaign. End goal for the game is to grind and make a toon and have fun. Replaying the campaign can be a real chore over and over again. Zuletzt angestoßen am 10.02.2025, 12:52:38

A few questions:
- What about all the other stuff you unlock in campaign? - Would players get what they need in a timely fashion, or would it be RNG like everything else in Atlas? - Currently players are complaining about waystone sustain, how would this work at such a low level while not being about to run juiced maps? - Would this also require lower level Precursor Tablets? - How do you prevent players from just tossing themselves at higher content than they are ready for? " Such as the trial of Sekhema and the other one? Possibly level based? At 30 (random number) baryia tokens drop and 40 for the one in act 3. Reforge bench gets unlocked and no need to unlock it again. Hooded one same thing. I think that loot would remain rng but events can be hardcoded to happen. Waystone drops would have to be increased. I am currently having an *ok* time sustaining but it could be more. I am more casual and not so much trying to get specific mods on waystones. Didn’t think about the towers so what would your idea be? If a player wants to try and take on higher content then I suppose they can. I might get thrown out to the cold but maybe they can be level scaling to what you are. Higher waystones can have higher mods. Basically when one reaches endgame they know what to expect from the game and this would be something they can do to just really try out new builds and stuff. What do you think about your questions though? Any suggestions to answer the questions you proposed? |

" While I appreciate that you thought about ways to make that happen, there is an actual reason why they don't implement an alternative way to level (skip the campaign). If they introduce levelling in "maps" next to the campaign you would create a new imbalance in progress. In the campaign, everybody has the same tasks, order of Acts, bosses and so on. With some ppl then levelling in maps it could give them a faster and more profitable way to progress thus an advantage. Balancing these two progression paths is probably not possible, so they don't do it. And while I, myself, hate the PoE1 campaign with all my heart... I think a parallel levelling system would cause more "harm" than it would benefit the player base. |

Would being carried through the campaign be something of the same imbalance? All games have a power leveling issue I think. If someone high level carries someone through with rarity finding gear they are put at a major advantage.
This wouldn’t be alongside the campaign but after it’s already been completed. Diablo 4 did that. |
