Zalmaranth The Colossus Boss Bug - Unable to attack boss

So, started a boss battle against Zalmaranth the Colossus in the Titan Grotto (Cruel difficulty). After casting some gas grenades, a graphical error occurred (the gas effect tiled across the entire screen) and I was no longer able to attack the boss. The boss continued attacking as usual, but I was not able to damage him at all and ended up dying.

Happened again, I can't damage him at all.....

Seems to happen after he uses his attack where the red orbs attack. Where after that phase, I'm completely unable to damage him

Yeah he rotates about 45 degrees using the laser attack and I just can't damage him at all after that. It's happened to me about 12 times at this point.

Finally killed him but it would happen for about 12 attempts before getting one where he could be damaged. It did seem like it was tied to his position in the arena, where if he moved to another area he could be damaged again.
