Endgame Strange Unbalanced Tier 1 Event

Started the map in a desert biome, some weird colorful character is staring at me. I walk into it and says something about a god killer then I got spammed with a bunch of creatures in an enclosed area.

I'm not even sure what I just experienced. So far the endgame maps have been fun, until that event occurred.

Want to recommend this game but cannot as there are some gameplay hick ups. I like this game and want to see it in a better state so I'm pointing this out. That event felt so out of place, made no sense and had no context on top of having completely unbalanced enemies.
